Apart from wondering when I was going to get round to teaching, the thought that struck me was how confused parents must be.
The younger child will face a different regime. They will take the new 'EBCs' at 16 - in core subjects from one exam board - and possibly GCSEs in other subjects as well. They may then take AS levels, but these will not count towards A-level grades for university entry. They might have to take a wider range of subjects, and they might have to do voluntary service and an extended research-based essay. IBs and Pre-Us will probably still be there!
