May School Marketing Update

by | May 18, 2023 | Blog | 0 comments

This month we address two of the biggest challenges for schools – and one of the best marketing solutions. Poor teacher recruitment and negative online reviews have the potential to derail successful schools – but engaging students in content creation is a great way to show what your school is really like! There’s also a round up of recent changes in web-based creative tools – these 5 might be exactly what you need for your day-to-day marketing needs – plus the latest school marketing job from MAD Recruitment.  As ever, please get in touch if you’d like to give feedback, share your stories or ask marketing questions. Best wishes Simon Hepburn  Founder, Marketing Advice for Schools Call +44 (0) 161 241 2315 or click to book a chat via Calendly.
School Media Team streams live around the world! “The ability to engage our distant and overseas parents has been fantastic and very much appreciated by both the parents and their children.” Orwell Park School is a day and boarding preparatory school for boys and girls aged between 2½ and 13 years in the village of Nacton in Suffolk. One of the pilot schools for the School Media Team project, it has produced a wide range of pupil-led content, including live-streaming of community events and sports fixtures. Online content creation – the latest features..One of the biggest changes for many school marketers in recent years is the growth of web-based creative tools. Creating quality flyers and social media post used to require expensive programmes such as InDesign or Photoshop – but they can now be produced quickly using the likes of Canva – often for free! Here’s our run-down of the latest additions to our top 5 apps…1. Adobe Express – try the new Schedule feature to save time on social media (although I still like Buffer)!2. Canva – check out over 1,100 new fonts!3. Clipchamp – try 50 new original music tracks and much more to enhance your video!4. Grammarly – the new GrammarlyGo feature lets you brainstorm ideas and create personalised text5. Spotify for Podcasters – Spotify has taken over Anchor, the world’s biggest podcast hosting platform and now offers great tools for anyone looking to create a podcast!
